Publications![]() One thing led to another and "we went from new paint palette to a full remodel," recalls Quintin who worked warm reds, a clear blue and taupe into almost every room in the house as she updated the kitchen, baths and even their stair rail. The remodel, three other equally extensive remodels and a recently constructed home will open for touring as part of the ASID 2005 Remodel and New Construction Tour April 30. The self-guided tour sponsored by the San Diego chapter of the American Soceity of Interior Designers includes stops in El Cajon, Coronado, Fairbaks Ranch and Mount Helix, as well as Mission Beach. The new home on Mount Helix is the residence of Kim Keywan Etherton who describes its style as "Euro Country - a little bit of Italian, French, Spanish, and English." Panaramic views and lots of storage are among the home's outstanding features. Two of the other remodels involved the the addition of more that 1,000 square feet of additional space. Styles include California Spanish and updated Craftsman. "Tour guest will see creative design and space planning and the finished result of the design and construction process that reconfigures a home to suit the client's needs," said tour chairwoman Lynn Wyndham Morris. In addition to Quintin and Etherton, participating designers include John Mills Davies, Michael DeLuca, and Richard Gatling. All will be on site to answer questions. Tour hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $20 if ordered by April 15; $25 the day of the event. To order tickets in advance, send a self-addressed, stamped No. 10 envelope to ASID, 4010 Morena Blvd., Suite 102 San Diego, Ca 92117.
